Licensure Requirements
Connecticut is not an NLC participating state, so out-of-state nurses wishing to practice in Connecticut must apply for Licensure by Endorsement as follows:
- 1. Submit the application and pay the associated fees.
- 2. Verification of all licenses held (current and expired) through NursysⓇ or the original state of licensure using this form.
- 3. Submit a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
- 4. Provide your Social Security number.
Applicants who hold a current and valid registered nurse license in another U.S. state or territory are eligible for a 120-day, non-renewable temporary permit to practice in Connecticut. Once the application is received, a temporary permit will be issued in 15 days.

The fees to apply for Licensure by Endorsement in Connecticut are as follows:
