Licensure Requirements
To apply for Licensure by Endorsement, you must:
- Have completed a board-approved nursing program anywhere in the United States or Canada.
- Submit a CHRC (criminal history record check) for your current state of residence and anywhere else you have resided, worked, or were educated in the last 10 years.
- Complete 3 hours of board-approved CE credits on child abuse recognition and reporting.
- Have your school submit an official transcript directly to the board that identifies the RN education you received prior to your original license.
- Verification of licensure from Nursys® for every state you have been licensed to work in.
To apply for a Temporary Practice Permit, you must answer a question within the Endorsement application. The fee for Licensure by Endorsement is $120 and for temporary licensing, it’s $70.
